I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Sitting in class and another teacher coming in telling our teacher about the tragic events of that day. From that moment forward we watched the news coverage the rest of the day. Those events were some of the main reasons I joined the fire service. To give back to my community.

We thank you for taking the ultimate sacrifice on that very day. Going into those building not thinking twice about safety to oneself, but to save and rescue as many people as possible. I will never forget this day and will always do anything to honor the memory of those lost.

I remember being in school, watching everything unfold on tv. I remember seeing the brave individuals of the FDNY, NYPD NYPA. Run in the fear of danger and not think twice. I knew then that I wanted to give back to my community just like they did. Thank you all for your sacrifices that day. We will never forget

serving humanity around the clock, being ever ready to serve no matter the time of day 365 days a year....we have your back

Visited in March. Will forever be grateful to all those who are affiliated with this wonderful Place. Especially to Jeremaih who escorted us and spent time to tell us the stories. We (the family of Lt. Joseph Gerard Leavey, FDNY Ladder 15) thank you most sincerely for this beautiful rememberence. Joseph was very proud of his Irish roots. Paternal relatives from County Longford AND maternal relatives from County Clare! He and his men made it up to the 78th floor of the South Tower. As they climbed, they offered hope to so many poor victims that day. To be remembered in this way (your garden) for their courage and sacrifice means a GREAT deal to us..we thank you most especially for your powerful prayers which carried us through the pain and heart ache we experienced. Knowing and feeling your love and support all the way from Ireland is precious beyond words. God's blessings for all of you! With love and gratitude...The Leavey Family
